My Approach to Care
Healing and resilience ARE possible after experiencing major illness or injury, loss, trauma or burnout. I see it happen every day in my clients, and I personally live it everyday myself as a survivor turned thriver from both childhood abuse & PTSD.

Like the great Oak & Willow trees, human beings have an incredible ability to bounce back from adversity and be flexible and resilient as a result of the struggle.

I specialize in caring for individuals and families who are at an impasse with a part of themselves, their lives or relationships; for those who feel "stuck" in life or those who've suffered either from loss or any form of trauma or abuse, including frontline workers, military, or first responders dealing with operational & compassion fatigue, or PTSD.

My holistic approach focuses on healing the whole being: mind, body, and heart, using a holistic neurological regulation approach along with a variety of psychotherapies & holistic wellness modalities tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences.

I work with my clients to successfully achieve their personal therapy goals & a more resilient and whole self in every aspect of their being, lives and relationships, so they too can know the joy of being not just a survivor but a thriver.

Words of Inspiration & Hope :
" THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE .we have known are those who have known suffering, known struggle , known loss, and have found their way out of its depths.
These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, resilience and a deep loving concern for others."

“Kitty has been a guiding light in my journey towards self-discovery and healing from extensive Childhood trauma. I felt trapped in the memories of decades of childhood and adult abuse and trauma for most of my life. it affected my health, my relationships and robbed me of true joy in anything. I thought it was too late to do anything about it in my very senior years, but she showed me that with supportive holistic care I can truly leave the past behind and experience real joy & peace for the first time. what a difference its made in my life and my ability to love and be loved.”

“I wasnt so keen on seeing a therapist, but when i heard about how she helped a coworker and that she was a former first responder I decided to give it a shot & I'm glad I did.
I'm so grateful for Mary Kate's support and guidance during a challenging time in my life & career as a First Responder. Her holistic approach and care have been invaluable in helping me get back to the job I love and have a more balanced life outside of work too. She also helped me and my spouse, who is also a first responder to connect and care for one another better. Now we are a happier couple who know how to support & enjoy one another better... both on and off the job. "

" I had never been to therapy before and was really, really anxious about it. But from the first consultation I felt safe and comfortable with Mary Kate
( Kitty). She was so caring and professional. I really liked the fact that she's 'been there, done that , has the scars and uniforms to prove it'. She knows what its like to sit in both chair; her own life journey added to the training and experience as a therapist, made me feel hopeful that this therapy thing could work for me too. And it did. My therapy sessions have provided me with a safe space to explore my thoughts and emotions, and learn how to find the resilience story in my PTSD and burn out, so Ive been able to grow from my struggles and traumatic events, rather than be held hostage by them. I feel like I'm stronger , more empowered and i know & like myself now. I know what I'm capable of accomplishing in my life now. I don't see my medical issues and limitations as a curse anymore because I focus on what I can do and enjoy rather than what I cant. I've learned how to build on my strengths while shoring up my weak areas. I have more self compassion and self worth, and more compassion and empathy for others. Therapy was so worth the time, work and energy. Thanks Kitty! "
